Join MMCA & Grant Collins of Felhaber Larson to take an expansive look at the required statewide sick & safe time, how it impacts employers, and steps employers need to take to comply with the laws. These new laws impact both non-union and union employees. Grant Collins is an MSBA-certified specialist in both traditional labor law and employment law. His traditional labor practice involves preparing for and serving as chief-spokesperson for collective bargaining, advising employers on their rights and obligations under collective bargaining agreements and the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), and representing employers in grievance arbitrations and unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board. Grant advises clients on contingency planning in both the strike context and lockout context, including preparing for potential picket-line misconduct, sympathy strikes, and residential picketing. Grant also serves as outside labor counsel for construction trade groups, including the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) and the Finishing Contractors Association (FAC International). This class will be available in-person at the Marriott Minneapolis West and remotely over Zoom. Statewide Sick and Safe Time Explained
