Designed for entry-level project managers, this course provides a practical introduction to HVAC and plumbing systems and their role in building construction. Participants will learn key terminology, identify common equipment and materials, understand how heating, cooling, ventilation, and water distribution systems work, and interpret mechanical plans and specifications. The course also covers the commissioning process and how these systems are integrated throughout a construction project. Brad Perkins, PE, is a professional engineer and Senior Lecturer in Iowa State University’s Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering.
