Description

Mechanical contracting is both high-risk and labor-intensive. Labor costs and productivity represent the most significant risks, even for small firms. Challenges like schedule compression, trade stacking, and poor project pre-planning can severely impact labor productivity, leading to low profitability. This course is designed to address these issues and introduce new concepts to successfully increase on-site labor productivity. By the end of this course, participants will know how to conduct formal pre-planning, measure, control, and enhance field productivity, and effectively solve problems with corrective actions. Participants will gain practical skills to improve productivity, from building manpower loading charts to recognizing and mitigating the impact of schedule compression. Participants will explore basic principles of field productivity improvement and learn how to conduct a thorough pre-planning effort. They will also gain skills in building and tracking manpower loading charts, as well as strategies for site logistics and material handling, with practical examples contrasting successful and problematic jobs.

Recommended for project managers and site supervisors who want to boost productivity and profitability in their operations.
